Neo Manhattan Game Thread

Chan Zsolt stood before the scene of a horrid crime.  A woman had been beaten, raped and then finally murdered in a most gruesome fashion... and it was Zsolt's job to figure out who did it and why.  He always hated cases like this...  and it was made just that much more difficult by the fact that the victim had been a reploid.

He sighed.  The press would be all over this one.  He was surprised they hadn't gotten wind of it yet.

Ever since the Reploid Citizenship law had been passed five years ago, violence against reploids had spiked.  It didn't help that all registered reploids had built in programming that disallowed them from intentionally harming a human.  Zsolt had always found that to be silly.  After all, shouldn't a reploid be allowed to defend him or herself?

He finished off his stim, tossing the glowing bud on the ground and stepping on it.  The forensics team would finish up here.  He had work to do.

Zsolt hopped onto his speedbike and took off.

A late model Mercedes approached the crime scene, the digital plate embedded in the windshield auto set itself to blink Medical Examiner in case any authority figures felt like adding her plate to their daily quota.
It started to rain again, seems as if it always rains when a homicide has been committed, the shield covered her as she exited the Mercedes, now if only the inventors could figure out a way of making a shield to protect the scene she’d be smiling instead of frowning.
Kay waited as the rest of the tech crew pulled up in their little energy efficient vehicles, as they struggled out of each one she smiled sardonically and praised the advantages of diesel fuelled cars once again.

The rain started to come down in a trickle as Kay moved inward into the crime scene area, they did not have much time before the torrents would come, they always did, and wash away all valuable traces of the perpetrator.

Kay did her normal walk about viewing the body from all angles, while the tech’s captured it digitally for later viewing and posterity if this one was not caught.
Very few reploid killers were caught, if any at all, so far reploid killers 100% law enforcement ZERO!
That bothered Kay, life was life artificial or not and who was to say with humanity’s record the reploids would not become the ruling force one day, after all we have killed each other in far too many wars, why not another all encompassing war, annihilation of humanity complete.
Sullen thoughts were pushed to the back of her mind as something shiny caught her eye.
Kay clicked on glide mode, her coroner’s equipment for crime scenes allowed her to glide inches above the surface area, non-disruptive they said. Kay had not much use for the technology of recent years, but this one she did appreciate, for she preferred to use the good old Grey Matter God gave her, somehow that always prevailed when it came to solving the homicide or assisting the homicide detectives.

Kay leaned over and donned latex gloves, before she pulled out the evidence bag and tweezers. Yes there it was the same piece left behind at each reploid killing a memory chip of solid platinum, not that any memory chips were made out of platinum this was the killers calling card and he had left it many times before, 49 times to be exact!
This was number 50 and Kay was frustrated, she just knew it would be like the others, untraceable, no prints, nothing, NADA!
This person or persons involved were serious serials, and Kay knew about serial killers.
Damn but she KNEW!

Kay waited until the area had been digitally captured and the body removed to be transported to the coroner’s office.
She made her way back to the Mercedes and turned the key, she had work to do, yet she hoped the detective on this case would not be a paid complacent one, like all the others she had encountered.
This was another serial killing and she wanted the killer bad, so bad she could taste metal in her mouth!
Kay slipped the gearshift into drive and made her way back for the final examination and reploid autopsy.

Scythe touched down on top of the Aeon Tower.  He looked down at the fragment of the dead reploid's drive, the fragment that he had taken.  He didn't care what data was on it.  He just took it to make the humans struggle that much more to find the killer.

Scythe rested his immense body on the top of the tower.  If it weren't for this stealth modules, half of Neo Manhattan would have seen his lift off from the crime scene and fly across the town.  But they didn't.

Scythe would have been amused, if he had been created with the ability to be amused...  but all he felt was hatred.

Zsolt pulled into the multi-tiered parking garage for the 40 story tower that held his apartment.  His was on the 35th floor.

He left his speedbike on the 36th tier.  The 35th had been full, as usual, but he didn't mind the half hour walk to his apartment.  It would give him time to think about this case.

It was already obvious that this was the work of the same killer that Zsolt had come to know so well.  Only a few others at the department were as familiar with this killer as Zsolt was.

He would have to meet with one of them later, go over the details of this particular killing and figure out where to go from here.

What troubled Zsolt most was that this killer had escaped them for so long.  It spoke not only of a dangerous killer, but also of the departments lack of caring about a serial killer who preyed solely on reploids.  Zsolt found that he had to do the bulk of his work on this case outside of work hours.

He reached the stairs and started the short descent to the 35th floor.  The stairs were silent, only the sound of circulating air and Zsolt's heavy thoughts to disturb the silence.

But as Zsolt approached the door to the 35th floor, he felt a strange energy nearby.  He looked over his shoulder, but didn't see anything...

The sign on the door read Reploid Physiology - Dr. Raine Phillips.
Inside the sounds of a woman humming could be heard along with electronic sounds.

"How are you you doing maggie?  This shouldn't hurt one bit and afterwards you can go back to Graingers office and finish up."

Dr. Raine, a woman of 34 leans over a reploid, it's body propped up in a holding field as she worked.  Using a metal sealing pen, she operates on the reploid.  It had come in asking to be repaired after cleaning up in Dr. Grangers office.  Some equipment had fallen on maggie's arm, damaging the stablizing servo.  The work was made simpler by the fact that this particular reploid did not have synthetic skin.

The office being filled with reploid parts, some whole entirer reploids. The good Dr.'s grandfather was one of the few that actually made and flipped the switch that made the  first reploid online. Following in his footsteps somewhat she repairs them, knows them inside and out. She's taken on a more friendlier attitude towards them also, making her a sort of eccentric in many of her circles. Most of the reploids of the city come to her to be 'fixed'. Her office wasn't the reploid hospital, but many of them felt comfortable with Raine, she made them feel...more human than most.

"Alright, I think I got it..."..Pushing the cover latch on it's side, a little up near the pit of it's arm she stands back.. "maggie..you there hun?"
Watching the reploid wake up for that minor surgery she smiles seeing its eyes blink in rapid succession. in an almost childlike voice, with an synthetic twang, maggie frees herself from the cell.

"yes doctor. maggie is going to work now."

Raine nods leaning her bottom against her desk her arms crossed in front of her, she watches one of the older versions exit her office. The newer reploids have human skin covering their bodies, inside might still be the same but the outer is blending into the actual human population quite nicely these days. Chuckling at herself, she goes back around her desk taking her seat and then going back to her work, diving back into what she was doing before maggie had come in.

Kay shifted the Mercedes into neutral before the Morgue’s bay; again someone had parked in her space reserved for the coroner, she had a fairly good idea who, thumbing the small remote attached to her keys, the bay doors opened with a whoosh allowing Kay to drive in as they automatically shut behind her. Somehow this always unnerved Kay a bit, even though the delivery bay was instantly lighted with the doors activation, it wasn’t too hard for someone experienced in code writing to crack the system, even changed daily it seemed to be a challenge to deter the would be hackers, they delighted in the chaos it always caused and of course the Morgue surely was NOT in Manhattan’s better address area.

Pushers, Pimps and Hookers still walked the street right there, day or night, even the authorities did not venture down here unless it was tantamount to another war happening, for this was the war zone.

Kay activated the shield cone; the buzzing in her ears was harsh as it encircled her door allowing a clear protected path into the Morgue as she exited the Mercedes. Her walk to the secure door was unhampered for once; no one had breached the bay this time, no bodies to have scooped off the tempered steel floor.
She breathed a deep breath as her hand was placed in the security scanner the pinprick always bothered her, even though she knew all was sterilized before and after each DNA sample was taken analyzed and the retinal scan completed.

“Identity Verified, Scarpetta Katrina, Intruder scan completed” [/I]

The voice somehow reminded her of HAL, not the sane Hal, but the insane HAL, shivers always happened when she heard it; she had grown up on that classic movie. The door became translucent and Kay passed through, seeing Murphy the Morgue Bay attendant sitting there, Murphy grimaced and knew someone had parked in her space, he was already on the intercom having the situation rectified as Kay passed, her brows raised and Murphy gave her two fingers up as he spoke, meaning two new intakes, since she had left.

Kay wondered Human or Reploid? One she knew was reploid, not that it mattered both would receive equal scrutiny. Onwards through the doors into the heart of the beast for that was what the Morgue was, a beast. The powers that be did not give a shit about the dead, so they revamped the Morgue/ Coroner’s Office with inadequate funding for security and even less for forensic technology. Yet Kay had kicked their asses at their own game, she raised private funding for the technology required on her own, so behind the dinosaur’s walls lay a cornucopia of advanced technology that any Coroner would have given their right arm for.

Ascending to the first floor she passed her right hand, her secretary, Jasmine, what would she do without this one, she did not want to know as a steaming mug of hot coffee was placed into her hand before entering the sterile change area. Kay would be disinfected from head to foot in seconds once she passed through the airlock, she took a large sip of the hot creamy substance and moved onward into the change area, stripping her street clothes and stepping nude in through the airlock, lights flashed as the disinfecting was completed, Kay stepped through another set of doors and donned her surgical scrubs, ready to venture into the autopsy rooms. She waited until the door opened and found two charts placed in holders outside each autopsy room one for Humans, one for Reploids.

Each autopsy room was different, each life form had its own dangers, and each had its own set of containment procedures. Kay lifted the Reploid chart and entered the room.
Time to discover.

Zsolt sat down on his couch, staring at the black screen on the wall.  He didn't care for any of the television shows they had on, usually only switching on his set to watch the news or whatever else.  But tonight he wasn't in the mood even for that.

This case was just bugging him.  All evidence pointed to a human male doing the murders, and one who was clever enough to escape their scrutiny over and over... but something about this bothered Zsolt.  Something was not right.  There was something key to the whole series of murders that they were missing, something that even Zsolt had failed to see so far.

Suddenly he wanted very much to see the corpse of that reploid woman once again.  He knew that by now it would be in the morgue.
Perhaps some clue remained on or in the body that they had not yet noticed...

Some time later, Zsolt was back on his bike, speeding across town toward the morgue...

Kay always had her Assistant Coroner Chuck assist in Reploid autopsies, two sets of eyes worked better than one set and a witness was a safe thing these days.
Chuck being Chuck was ready and entered right behind Kay, the room sealed itself behind them until the autopsy's completion.
The Medical Examiner’s offices across the global community were not above being accused of evidence tampering, when it suited the power echelon’s needs or worse their wants.

Kay donned the final protective coverings, coverings that protected her and the evidence as well; one thing she was beside ethical was thorough.
The command was spoken “Case number 2122-51515 commencing”.
The recorders would track every movement and every sound, while filling out the case file, until the autopsy was completed

After verbally documenting all external marks/ abnormalities/ clothing etc Kay lifted a sealing pen, and slipped it into reverse mode, the first step was the drive’s removal, the contents had to be downloaded immediately according to law. Maybe this one held some clue, maybe even an image of her assailant. Kay prayed silently it would unlike those before they had been wiped clean. The OLED screen actually sputtered to life, images were there, shadows streaking across the screen, nothing tangible, just blurred streaks of shadows. Kay actually swore, unusual for her.

“Well DAMN, at least this time its something!”
The download completed, Kay placed the drive on a stainless steel table to be sealed for evidence later. She continued to describe the injuries sustained during the beating and rape, Chuck confirming her observations verbally as they proceeded, adding his own notations. They also made comments concerning the sequence of the beating and rape including the cause or causes of each injury known or unknown. This was a bad one.
Hours passed what should have taken 3 at the most turned into 8 hours until the final command “Case number 2122-51515 completed”.

Kay was exhausted, yet something nagged her; she felt she had missed something, but what?
Sitting on a stainless steel stool in front of the evidence table she reviewed the shadow sequence repetitively, but all she could see were blurs of grey and black, not even shapes, just streaks. Unconsciously her hands held the drive turning it over cyclically.
Kay was frustrated, she needed help and the authorities were not lining up to come to her aid, not even the detective on these cases, she still had not received that name.
The only person who could help her was Dr. Raine Phillips. Dr. Phillips knew more about Reploids than any other human being or reploid in existence.
Kay had made her decision; she would go outside the politically correct venue and contact Dr. Phillips. Maybe Dr.Phillips would know what the solid piece of platinum memory chip left behind at each murder was or ment, the tide of change had to roll in soon.
Kay would also call her contact and find out just WHO the investigating officer is. These murders had to STOP!

Zsolt brought the bike to a halt on the sidewalk.  He knew that leaving his bike unattended in this area of town might not be such a good idea, but the controls were complicated enough that he felt it would deter most criminals.  And if that wasn't enough, the wheels would lock up once the bike reached 40 kilometers per hour if the proper code was not entered when the bike was started.

Leaving his bike behind, he entered the morgue...

Kay glanced up from the drive she had been turning over in her hands as the system announced a visitor, an officer of the law.
Instruction was given to allow him entrance and escort him to the autopsy room if his inquiry was directed towards the reploid murders, if not, he should be escorted to the waiting room, Kay would join him there when she was free.
Wait is what he would do if he had come just to snoop, for those who held the cards in the deck. Kay had no use for those people.

Zsolt got to the door and had to ask for entrance.  A voice asked him who he was.

"Detective Zsolt."  0he replied to the faceless speaker.

The door made a clunk sound as it unlocked, allowing him entry.  He pushed inside, walking down a dim hallway.  Maybe it was just his perception, but it seemed like these morgues always seemed desolate.  Like the fact that they dealt with the dead somehow effected the entire building.

He approached the desk, where a man was sitting.  It looked like a skeleton crew was running the morgue through the night.  The man looked up at Zsolt questioningly as the detective approached.

"My name is Zsolt.  I'm here to talk to the Medical Examiner about a recent arrival.  A reploid."  Zsolt explained.

The attendee nodded understanding and sent Zsolt into the back...

* Reviah returns to Neo Manhattan. *

I've managed to find an abandoned apartment in the slums area on the outskirts of Neo Manhattan. It's a rough neighbourhood, but nothing I can't handle. Besides, around these parts most tend to keep themselves to themselves. I have considered returning to my last 'abode' but for the time being there's so much going on in this area over the street, a young collection of female reploids are being hassled by NMPD for information probably, the stim-gangs are rife here.

I need to check out some information I managed to 'obtain' in Boston last week, but I need to find a police station out of the city. Somewhere quiet and possibly out of scout drone radiuses.

The chime rang and of course that voice announced Detective Zsolt was admitted to the inner realm of the morgue, he would be arriving at the autopsy room shortly, only the doors leading to where she sat would open.
Security ensured people would not loose their way and those who wanted to snoop in places they should not be, could not.
Evidence tampering was avoided that way.

Kay sat silently waiting until the Detective’s arrival; she occupied herself watching the images captured from the hard drive as they replayed continuously.
All that achieved was the elevation of her frustration level and cemented the conviction to go outside the norm in asking for Dr. Phillips help.

Kay hoped the Detective would know containment procedures and suit up before he tried to enter the autopsy room, the door would not open unless he did, so she waited impatiently yet quietly.
Hoping his visit would not be a waste of time and another dead end.

(sorry bout that... i introduced myself and didnt follow up.. but i am back now :-) )

torin stuck by detective Zsolt, hoping to find something out about the reploids...

torin had done alot of changing  through the endless years that he had chosen to wander the earth without a body...

he used to care about world peace, and doing the right thing, and human rights, equality, and putting others above the self.

now all he cared about was a physical existance... and would go to drastic measures if he needed to... he just didnt care anymore...

but now was not the time.

his spirit lingered behind Zsolt as he entered the mourge.

Zsolt went through the decon routines, donning the necessary garb for entry into the morgue proper.  He had a feeling that a strange energy was nearby again but couldn't quite identify what it was...

He approached the door and it opened, allowing him inside.  Zsolt approached the working doctor, not wanting to be intrusive but in dire need of at least some sort of lead here.

"Excuse the intrusion.  I am Detective Chan Zsolt.  I can't sleep until I see the reploid again."  He said, trying his best to sound amiable.

Raine finishes up the last report about the new 340 chip they were testing on the older reploids. She looks down at it reading it through with the end of her pen between her teeth, reaching out as the phone rings. Before she can even say 'Hello' a man starts speaking.

Dr. I need to have that memo about that scanning component Branson was talking about in his lecture a few weeks ago...
The voice drones as Raine zones out as she always did when Professor Haris called asking for something he had no idea what it was, just an idea, and she always always knew what he was talking about somehow.

"Yes yes, I will have Sara bring it to you right away.. yes I know that conference was informative...yes I know...uh huh...sure it was... Well I need to go now, Yes I going to head home now..No I won't forget....Ok then..."

Holding the phone away from her face still talking into it.."Well.....alright Have a good night..." Haris can still be heard talking as she hangs the receiver up.

Punching the number 3 button on her phone she waits for the female voice to say hello.
"Sara can you run the Saturn scanner memo over to Haris please, I think he lost his again"
Waiting for her responce she laughs and hangs up, turning she grabs her coat and purse, and heads for the door, almost making it through before the phone rings again.

Dr. Scarpetta heard the voice introducing himself as Detective Chan Zsolt as she gazed at the scene replaying once again.
“Pull up a stool Detective maybe before you examine the reploid you might wish to see what was extracted from the drive, my eyes just can not differentiate the blurred shadows, a second pair would be useful.”
Kay was exhausted as she laid down the drive and turned half facing the Detective, he hand extended in greeting.
Rising from the stool, Kay made her way over to a private and secure phone where she placed a call to Dr. Phillips, it was time she decided, this could not wait any longer.
A busy signal buzzed insistently until the voice mail kicked in, Kay smiled at least something’s remained consistent.
“Dr. Scarpetta Medical Examiner Neo Manhattan, please contact me at your earliest convenience, I require your expertise Dr. Phillips”

Kay left her office and her private number then disconnecting she turned back to Detective Zsolt, his attention was glued to the screen, and Kay silently hoped he would be able to make out the blurs.
She walked over to the autopsy table and waited by the reploids inert form.

Zsolt shook her offered hand, but his eyes were immediately drawn to the screen.

It was a mass of blurs.  As Dr. Scarpetta left the screen to go place a call, Zsolt found his attention was riveted to the screen.  He played it over again, not blinking once while it played.  He didn't want to miss anything.

After the video stopped, he sat there for a few moments, completely still, going over what he had just seen.

Finally he walked over to the autopsy table.  "What do you make of that on the screen?"

Whatever he had seen on that screen was unnaturally fast, brutally strong and definitely not a normal human, unless this particular human was a giant who wore plates of metal instead of clothing...

Dr. Scarpetta exhaled quietly in frustration, she really hoped this Detective Zsolt would be able to distinguish the blurred shadows, that’s all they were to her, no matter how fast or slow she replayed the contents.
Kay knew better than to exhibit her emotions, so they were once again tucked away behind the clinical professional face as she stood beside the autopsy table containing the inert from of the murdered reploid.
Her hands reached forward and gently pulled back the sterile white sheet with reverence.

“Detective Zsolt I was hoping you would make some sense of the contents of the hard drive, it’s the only evidence we have in this series of gruesome atrocities.”

Kay stood back to allow the Detective access to examine the reploid and she spoke softly with authority.

“All the victims have been dispensed with in a similar manner, yet all the blows dealt to have come from the same weapon.
That we have ascertained from the points of impact and the degree of damage done before death, shutdown.”

Kay waited for his reaction and wondered if Dr. Phillips would return her message, she needed her to view what the detective was now viewing and would view if he wished, Kay had kept all the murdered reploids in secure containment within the complex.

"Those few seconds of video are the single biggest lead we've gotten on this case to date."  Zsolt commented.

"But I do not believe the thing on that video is a normal human, Doctor.  It is either a person in a twelve foot tall mech suit, or..."  He shrugged.

Zsolt looked down at the corpse of the reploid and slowly shook his head.  It truly saddened him to see this kind of thing.  But if the murderer was what he was beginning to suspect, then why were the circumstances of the murder as they were?

Perhaps the murderer was trying to lead them into believing that this was a hate crime, when in fact it was something altogether different?  Chan sat in silence for several moments, the gears turning as he thought it over.  He was reevaluating the entire case.

Things hadn't added up properly, but with this new evidence and his new suspicions, some things were starting to make a lot of sense.  For instance, why no murder weapon was ever discovered in any of the killings.  Because there was no murder weapon.  The murderer did it with his bare hands...

Zsolt shook his head slowly as he looked down at the body.  "The only question is why did the murderer do this?  Why target reploids and not humans?"

Standing there she waits for her voice mail to pick up the call..she was done today, she was hungry and wanted to go home.

Walking down the hall she waves to maggie still cleaning and then to Bob, one of the security guards walking her floor.
Sighing as she looks out the big bay windows at the end of the hall...rain, of course. She heads back to her office realizing she left her umbrella.  She didn't relish the idea of being soaked to the bone by just walking the few feet to her car.
Unlocking her office door she reaches in to grab the umbrella and then sighs again, she might as well find out the message that was left on her mail.

Picking the phone up she presses her key number in and listens to her messages.

One was from her neighbor telling Raine that someone had been looking in her wondow today and had found it suspicious...Mrs. Dondle...Mrs. Paranoia, but a very nice person.
Two was from Nick, asking for another date, obviously not remembering how disasterous the last one was.

And third... “Dr. Scarpetta Medical Examiner Neo Manhattan, please contact me at your earliest convenience, I require your expertise Dr. Phillips”

Replaying the message to get the number she writes it down then slips the peice of paper in her purse.  She would call from home, hopefully it wasn't life threatening..she needed to eat something first.

It was another cold blue night in Neo Manhatten. I entered the metropolis over a month ago, and it had been a painful return. The last time I was here was on secret covert op mission for the WOATC, in which I lost my one true love Jeni. Jeni was staying in the New Hilton complex just off Battery Park, when the bomb exploded in the park. My team had managed to capture the terrorists minutes before, however one was hidden and in desperate panic detonated the bomb by remote control. As Jeni walked out the main doors of the New Hilton, she was immediately stuck down by the flying debris of cars and metal from the explosion. There was nothing the medical staff could do for her and she was announced dead on the scene by detectives. I never even got to tell her the truth about my heritage, in her eyes I was always a human. I always supposed she would run away in disgust if she found out about the real Reviah. The reploid.

I wince and lower my head as I recalled this, that was over 10 years ago, and Neo Manhatten had grew like a urban weed and I found it hard to recall alot of the places that I once knew.

The reason this time for being here was not a vacation or duty, I have long defected from the WOATC, and have since tried to find out the truth about myself and my kind. My journey has lead me all over the world to find scraps of information, to finally access the database in the Phoenix WOATC base. Now I am here after a strange battle with a stimulant over-lord in Boston last week, where I was told in the exchange of the over-lord's life, about a young woman reploid who would have invaluable information for me.

Searching a metropolis this size was not going to be easy, I would have to start with the police database. The police department in Queens, although high tech, was no match for a reploid of this calibre. After a ten minute vacu-lift ride, I was right outside. With my sub-neural computer domination augmentation I am able to remotely access LAN's from up to 50 metres away. Any further and the signal is monitored, due to their level 2 security it counts me as aworkstation if I'm in that radius. Something is definately wrong, the upload is fine, but I sense something in close proximity that is not human. Oh the local night security! 5 security drones have locked on to my sub-link outside however, as always, after a matter of minutes, they are nothing more than expensive titanium scrap. Amongst the smoking remains, and blue sparks, I finish uploading the database, which should help considerably.

As I make my back in the shadows, I feel someone else's prescence nearby even though the roof tops are empty. My intial sweep of the area picks up nothing more than rats and birds and the occasion sentry drone. It's not a feeling I've had before. Whilst making my way back I think it would be a good idea to try searching the database for this young reploid, with the social security number the over-lord gave me, he better hope this is the actual number as I left a little explosive under his desk as compensation.

Match: 192-168-254-254-78-08-A, Seline Tiqua, Reploid, Female, AGE: 21. RESIDENCE: 143B, DENTON APARTMENTS, HELLS KITCHEN, NEO MANHATTAN. STATUS: Single PROFESSION: STUDENT, PRES. CLINTON MEMORIAL COLLEGE. CRIMINAL RECORD: None. MEDICAL HISTORY: Unknown/Not Registered. CURRENT STATUS: Deceased. Investigation ongoing. CSI Detective(s) in charge: Zsolt, Chan Senior Detective  / Scarpetta, Kay Medical Examiner.

Deceased! I am tempted, just to activate that bomb for this insult of information. I wonder now, if my trail is at an end, but what did she know? There must be clues around her. A search in the database is starting to worry me greatly. What is going on in this city? Occording to this database in the last three months over 1,519 reploids have been murdered and cases unsolved. Why is this not prime time news, who's covering up this injustice, why only 354 murders for humans and 1,519 for reploids? Seeing as humans make up 82% of the population of the city surely, it would be the other way around?

I see there is more going on than is apparant. But first things first, I have to lose whatever is stalking me and contact those detectives, see where the body is. But I can't make it too obvious, or I will draw suspicion to myself. This is going to be difficult, I'm going to have to find one of their apartments and leave a cy-note.

Kay listened to the Detective in stunned silence, the first real lead, not a human, not hate crimes.
What the HELL was going on then?
Zsolt actually saw something in those few seconds of video, yet all Kay saw were shadowy blurs, nothing defined and Kay was very used to picking out and assimilating even the minutest details when it came to her charges, the dead.
Kay made a gut decision Zsolt was candid with her he deserved the same respect.
Knowing her decision could toss her into a political quagmire, not that she was not already labelled a rebel now, she was and managed to find herself walking on very thin ice most of the time, but these killings had to cease.
Studying his face as he looked at the immense damage inflicted upon the reploid she spoke.

“ Detective Zsolt, I have no answer as to why reploids and not humans are the target of this murderer, although I can assure you NO HUMAN has sustained anything similar to the method of the reploid killings. I have contained all the reploid remains murdered in this same manner, its not policy to do so, yet I disobeyed policy.
Further more I have placed a call to someone whose knowledge of reploids surpasses mine; to say the least her knowledge is extreme and perhaps, no definitely can shed some additional light on the murders.”

Kay made another conscious decision.

“Would you care to examine the other reploid bodies and review their drives content?
Those drives contain a mille second of video, but perhaps for you it maybe enough.”

Kay was completely exhausted, yet the anxiety of the unsolved reploid murders seemed far more pressing than her human needs, besides, she hoped Dr. Phillips would call her at home, there she at least KNEW her line was completely secure.
Those who were loyal to her father’s memory and on her side with the government’s security forces made sure it was unbreakable.
Kay waited for his answer.

Raine enters her home, the drive home long and congested like always..rush hour was every hour.

Setting her purse down on the little night table by her door along with her keys, calling "Lock" over her shoulder telling her door what she wanted it to do.

Slipping her shoes off throwing them into one of the corners she stops letting her toes curl into the deep plush carpet she had recently put in a moment before heading to her kitchen.
Puttering around she whips up an egg salad sandwich not wanting make a big meal right now..turning she munches on her dinner and walks back out into her living room.
Licking her fingers clean, her tummy full..
Now for that phone call

Striding over to her purse she digs in looking for the scrap of paper with the medical exsaminers number on it, picking up the phone laying there she dials the number at the same time walking over to her giant fish aquarium, sprinking a few handfulls of food to her salt water fish she juts her hip on the egde of the table listening to the ringing on the other end of the phone.
